Baptism!!

Image
Hi friends!! This week we had the baptism of hermana Yamilet and it was awesome!! A ton of people showed up to it, more than we thought so it was awesome to see so much support for her!! We spent several hours preparing for the baptism so it seems like our hard work payed off super well!! We also had divisions this week with the district leaders in la Victoria which were super interesting!! I was paired up with Elder Martinez, which is my missionary step brother, so it was super cool to meet him! I loved the experience, but I was super excited to get back to my area because we are helping two people prepare for their baptisms. Please keep Jessica and Cleverson in your prayers because they are so close to their baptisms! Jessica's should be this weekend! Elder Sopón is awesome! He keeps working hard to serve the people and follow the missionary standards. He's definitely gonna become a leader some day because he's got that kind of confidence in him. He also really wants me t...

In The Jungle!!

Though it may be better said: The Forest Hi friends! Welp, transfers have come and gone and now I'm in El Bosque!!!This week has been a little crazy, and I don't have much time to write, so I'll just focus on the important things. I'm now in a new area with a new companion: Elder Sopón.  He looks just like superman and works super hard.  He's just starting out his mission, and this past week he put down 2 baptismal dates. He's a superstar!  He teaches in a way I've never seen before, so I'm learning a ton of new things, but it's cool to see how each missionary sees the work and how to perform it. I was chatting with my parents on the pros and cons of our different ways of teaching and I'm just really impressed on how God manages to get the work done no matter how we teach.  He always seems to be able to magnify our efforts, and I know that he will have a super successful mission. El Bosque is exactly what its name says: it's a forest.  It...

Goodbye Las Brisas

Hi friends! How have you been this week?! I’ve been good, but this week has sure been crazy!! To start: On Monday we went and visited an Australian that we contacted!  It was interesting and fun to talk in English for a little bit while sharing a short message with them. To be honest, I never thought I would find an Australian here in Honduras. But I can now check it off of my list of people I’ve met! On Wednesday we had divisions with the Zone Leaders. Elder Randall went with Elder Snyder to Jardines del Valle, and Elder Mercado stayed with me in Las Brisas.  They were fun divisions, but I got stressed out (as usual) because at the start of the day most people canceled our appointments, but we managed to salvage the situation, so it’s all good!  The charlas were fun and I loved the way Elder Mercado teaches the people. There are so many ways to teach and it’s so fun to learn what I can do better and other perspectives I can share with the people about the gospel. I wont ...

Grandparent Expeditions

Hi friends! I made the mistake of procrastinating the day of my repentance (email writing) this week, so we'll get a small email this week! This week was super awesome and we had the blessing of a new friend to teach named Celenia Paz! Her granddaughter Caroline has also joined in and it's amazing being able to teach them! This Sunday Celenia came to church (Caroline was sick, so she couldn't) and it was amazing!  I'm so excited to be teaching them, and to be honest, my companion Elder Randall can probably testify to my eagerness to teach them because the days we have planned to visit them are the days I am most stressed out - because I want to make sure everything goes well!  So far it's all gone amazing, and I'm glad to be starting this month (and ending this missionary transfer) on a high note!  Please keep Celenia and Caroline in your prayers, that they may be able to understand what we teach them and they may be able to recieve a testimony of the truthfulne...

Let's Go To The State Fair!

Image
Hi friends!! This week was the state fair here in Las Brisas, which meant that this week was a little bit more difficult than the rest, we also had rainstorms most nights, and the ward had a temple trip on Saturday, so no members that day, but other than that this has been a good week.  This week I really felt like a fighter, and I won’t lie, I got a little frustrated at trying so hard to accomplish tasks or meet people only for meetings to be canceled last minute. But, that being said, we did have a bunch of miracles this week! We had a multizone conference this week which was amazing!  I loved being there with half the mission learning about more ways to improve and help the people. The missionaries in this mission are so special and I love getting to know them! We just barely had a fun p-day of Volleyball and Book of Mormon Painting! It was fun, but complicated to get all our daily errands to work. We’ve spent the day going from one place to another, filling our arms with m...
