Let's Go To The State Fair!
This week was the state fair here in Las Brisas, which meant that this week was a little bit more difficult than the rest, we also had rainstorms most nights, and the ward had a temple trip on Saturday, so no members that day, but other than that this has been a good week. This week I really felt like a fighter, and I won’t lie, I got a little frustrated at trying so hard to accomplish tasks or meet people only for meetings to be canceled last minute. But, that being said, we did have a bunch of miracles this week!
We had a multizone conference this week which was amazing! I loved being there with half the mission learning about more ways to improve and help the people. The missionaries in this mission are so special and I love getting to know them!
We just barely had a fun p-day of Volleyball and Book of Mormon Painting! It was fun, but complicated to get all our daily errands to work. We’ve spent the day going from one place to another, filling our arms with more bags of things we gotta take from one event to the house to the chapel, etc. Finally, though, we’re at the home and I can take a breather for a few minutes before we go out serving again!
I’ve been frustrated this week with all of the meeting cancelations! Almost every meeting that we planned beforehand with the people were canceled! We would remind the people that we were coming, we would plan it days in advance, and an hour before the lesson they would always cancel! One time, we confirmed an appointment an hour before the lesson, but when we got there we discovered that the person we were going to teach had fallen asleep! What’s more, a few minutes after we left they woke up again! A lot of people have been getting sick with Dengue too, which has caused a problem for us (I’ve been putting on a ton of bug spray to protect myself from it because I DO NOT want Dengue).
Now, I’m struggling to think of notable things to mention for this week, but I do want to mention an amazing miracle that we recieved this week! On Saturday, as we went around trying to have an appointment because they were all cancelled, again! We got a referal from the Sister Missionaries of a woman who was interested in going to church. We contacted her immediately and confirmed that she was, in fact, interested in going to church with us! We invited her to go to church with us, but discovered that she had a knee problem that would make getting there difficult for her. We started discussing ways we can help her get there when we noticed she started sounding overwhelmed, so we took a step back and planned to meet with her on Sunday.
Then comes Sunday and we invited a member to accompany us to visit this referral (her name is Celenia). We head over to visit her and we call her to see where she is and she tells us that she’s not home! (Another canceled appointment) But she mentioned that she was going to be home in 30 minutes and then could talk! We waited a few minutes and managed to meet with her and it was amazing to get to know her! She is 100% interested in learning more and I’m so excited to start teaching her and her granddaughter! Our plan is to bring more members to visit with her so she can have friends in the church, and then she can go to church with us on Sunday (which is fast Sunday)!!!
Things are hard (as always), but miracles are everywhere, and I’m happy!
I hope you all are happy too! Shout outs to my family who are going on a cruise this week! (I’m so jealous) I hope you enjoy it! Guys, find ways to enjoy life. It’s better that way! Also, Happy Birthday to my friend Livi who just barely became one year older and wiser too!
Keep on keeping on! Always!! Please!!!
I love you guys so much!

Oh, and I forgot to mention, this week I hit 1 year in the mission. I truly didn't believe a year ago that I would get this far, but here I am, and now I just need to survive one more year! Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
