Someone Ate My Cookie?!

Image
Hi friends! You heard that right:  Someone ate my cookie!!!!! The story is:  As we were leaving the institute building after our district council we ran into the janitor: Guadalupe!  She had a box of cookies with her and offered one to me and my new comp. We graciously accepted and started walking back to our area.  As we walked we chatted and ate, until some people coming the other way stopped us to say something.   We started chatting (though I can't remember a thing they were saying) and one of them started to chat about the bible.  After a moment he motioned to my cookie, and I thought that he wanted to prove a point using my cookie.  I held it up higher so it was easier to see, and .... and ... He snatched it out of my hand and popped it right in his mouth!!!!!  Then he said Thank you, Good bye, and left! What an interesting experience. The cookie was Oatmeal Raisin, so I can't cry too much over it. On terms of other events of the week -...

Dear Mason Grant,   Congratulations on your assignment to serve as a district leader in the Jardines District of the San Pedro Sula Zone.  As a district leader, you are expected to set an example for the missionaries in your district through your study of the scriptures and the gospel, exact obedience, hard work, proselyting skills and other aspects of missionary work.  Your role will be to supervise, teach, and inspire the missionaries in your district.  You will be responsible to plan and conduct weekly district meetings and supervise companion exchanges with the missionaries in your district. What A Week!

Image
Hi friends! This week was quite a rollercoaster ride!   First of all: Few things went according to plan.  We had planned a few baptisms for this Saturday, but literally everything that could go wrong did go wrong, and no baptism was had on Saturday.  We've tried our best to salvage the situation, but we've hit some walls.  I would like to ask you to pray for Hector Ochoa, who (if everything goes well) will be baptized this upcoming week.   On other terms - things that did not go according to plan were:  - The time it took to carry out a ward activity we were hosting  - The tragic death of my good friend Sopita  - A kid accidentally erasing all of my companion's photos  - Baptisms... While sad things certainly happened this week, I would like to list a few things that really helped me have a good week, even when they were small. Happiness moments for me were :  - Painting my Book of Mormon with the members around me  - Help...

It's All About Progress!

Hi friends!  To be honest, I don't know what to write. That doesn't mean that nothing happened this week, it just means that too much happened to recount.  I suppose I'll start with the people we are teaching. First of all! We have had several people on date to be baptized, and ... it's complicated. Why is it that life is so complicated?  I think I should start with Britany Castellanos, because we just barely got some news from her.  Last week we went to ask her parents for permission and support for her baptism. We wanted to do it sooner but they aren't home very often. We ended up stopping by multiple times during the week until we finally got to talk with her parents. After asking them for permission they said: No. But after sharing our testimonies they said that they would discuss the topic as a family. During the lesson, I was worried about the situation, but got the strange feeling that everything would be okay, and that she would recieve permission to be bapt...

Miracles In General

Image
Hi friends! This week was amazing ... even if my comp and I were cooped up at home sick for a few days.  This week was filled with miracles and I am able to see the hand of the Lord guiding us daily.  One of the most amazing miracles of the week was being able to watch General Conference, 2255 miles from the Conference Center, in the language easiest for us to underestand, live.  It's also a miracle being able to hear the voice of the Lord through his representatives so frequently.  The conference was amazing and I rate it 5 STARS. I loved all the talks and I wrote a mini bible worth of notes so I don't need to wait until they publish the individual talks tomorrow.  I was able to watch most of general conference with my district, and we had the pleasant surprise of several friends coming to watch with us.  One of them, named Hector, I met for the first time, and we taught him after the conference as a district.  After an awesome conversation about the ...
