Going To A Funeral... Again

Hi friends!! I hope you are all doing well and are all happy!! This week has been a week full of miracles, one of which was being able to find a bunch of new people to teach!  This has kinda been a few weeks in the making, with us trying to get in contact with references and finally accomplishing it. We hope that they will progress and that we can properly help them to come to Christ and make covenants with God. Okay, I want to write more, but my mind just barely turned into a jumbled mess of things I want to talk about, so I’ll just talk about what I can in no particular order. First: Shout outs! Shout outs to Elder Muñoz who just barely had his birthday!!!! Shout outs to my brother Jude who just barely came back from FSY!!! Shout outs to my uncle Conner who just got married!!! Shout outs to Katherine who will be going to Romania to serve Ukrainian refugees next month!!! Shout outs to Gavin Thurlow who just barely finished his mission!!! Shout outs to my parents who are doing an a...

Electrified Refrigerador

Image
To be honest, I could name this email many things. Teaching the Drunkard Gang would be a cool name… Welcome to Mickey D’s is also funny… I lost a fight to a gang of chickens… Electrified Refrigerator… The worst Baleadas I have ever eaten… Yeah, a lot of stuff happened this week!   Hi friends! I hope you are all doing well and are finding happiness every day!  I’m always on a quest to be happy and to trust in God, and during interviews this week Sis. McClellan invited me to take time to recognize the Holy Ghost in my life - I invite you all to do the same! Whew, a lot of stuff happened this week, let me share a few things. On Saturday we decided to invite everyone we could to church, so we went over to Maximiliano to check to see if he would go.  As we approached his house we found him chatting to two people. We joined the conversation and invited them to church and they said that they would go, then one of them (Jose) asked us a question about the church, and another...

Pupusa Challenge Gone Wrong

Hi friends!!! I hope you are all doing well! I'm doing fine here in Las Brisas!  I thought that I was  maybe  going to get transferred this week, but it turns out that, no, I'm staying here for 6 more weeks!  That means that I'm going to be celebrating 1 year in the mission here in Las Brisas.  I've only had two areas so far, but that's okay.  I'm glad I'm able to stay in the same area for a while and have that stability and friendship with the members.  This week was filled with a ton of changes though, because the San Pedro Sula Zone was split into the Office and SPS zones, and thus zone and district boundaries have changed.  We are now in the Smith District of missionaries, which means a new district leader, and new friends to meet. This will lead to new experiences and more growth! The work this week has been pretty good too.  Something I'm just now realizing is that bad/lousy days are kinda necessary to allow for awesome/amazing/happy da...

Why Do We Need Another Bible?

Hey, I just wanted to add a spiritual thought that I've been mulling over the past couple of days. On Friday we talked with a woman who had a ton of questions about the church and what we believe, and when we presented the Book of Mormon to her she posed the Million Dollar question of: Why do we need another Bible?   My mind immediately went to what 2 Nephi 29 says about that question:  “Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth?  “Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? Wherefore, I speak the same words unto one nation like unto...

No Time To Talk!

Hi friends! I'm sorry, I don't have any time to talk, I spent the whole day cleaning the house (it wasn't that messy, it's just that we wanted to do a little extra and that took a little while to do) Three highlights of the week are:  - Divisions with the Elders in Villas McKay: Elder Flores went with me and he's awesome!  - The San Pedro Sula temple was announced!  I talked with Bro Richards (the boss of the temple's construction) about when it would happen and he told me he didn't know, then the next day it was announced!!!  - New hymns are here! I'm already memorizing them in Spanish because they're amazing!!! I definentally recommend learning the sacrament song: Bread of Life, Living Water I just got notice that I'm not going to be district leader anymore, so that's cool! It was fun being district leader, but the next person will likely do it better than me.  I do wonder if that means I'll be transferred out of Las Brisas this week th...
