Praying For Tinkerbell
You just need faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust!
Hi friends!
This week I met Tinkerbell! She's now one week old! But more on that later.
First of all: Esmeralda and Diuman got baptized this week! They also got confirmed on Sunday and we had exceptional church and baptism attendance this week! It's so cool to see the process of conversion in someone, and the smile on their face when they get baptized! I will definitely miss this feeling after the mission. Before the mission I never really cared about the doctrine about baptism, but now I know that it is one of the most important doctrines to know! This week we met with a member who knows a lot about the scriptures and the church and it's teachings, yet I couldn't help but feel like he was paying too much attention to the little details that sure are interesting but not necessary to know. If you want to know what to study. Study the Atonement. In my opinion the Atonement of Jesus Christ is the most important church doctrine to know. If you know that (and act on that knowledge), then you don't need to know anything else to live an exceptional life and be ready for the next life to come.
I invite you all to study and learn about the atonement this week. You won't regret the knowledge you gain about our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ.
Other than that, we've been visiting a lot in every part of our area - especially Quimistan. We met a couple named Jose and Jensy that have a lot of interest in learning more about the gospel, and Jensy said that she's never been baptized and would like to do so! We also received a witness of God's hand in our life because when we first visited them we briefly answered their questions and then left, but we left feeling like we forgot to share something. But right as we were talking about our feelings we got a phone call from Jose asking if we would like to come back and take an orange juice. We returned and at that point he just invited us to eat lunch with them and we ended up talking to both of them about baptism and we left feeling super good. The fact that an orange juice helped us return and share the message that we felt needed to be shared is a testimony to me that God knows his work and will guide and correct us and lead us to what's right. I regret not just talking about baptism in the first place, but I'm grateful that God turned us right around immediately after the lesson to fix our mistake and give the proper lesson we needed to share. We're going to keep working with them to help them learn the gospel and prepare for baptism!
This week we also had our mission activity where we watched The Other Side of Heaven. I watched that movie for the first time last Christmas while in the office and I absolutely love the story of one of the first missionaries in Tonga. It is an inspiring story and I left feeling like we were superheroes just by being missionaries. From there we went straight to the house of a woman who messaged us asking for us to pray for them. We visited the family and discovered that the lady had just barely given birth a few days before and we met her brand new daughter - Tinkerbell (what a cool name!). We offered them a prayer of blessing and health and safety and we're going to keep teaching their family because they show an awful lot of interest in our message. We hope that soon they'll be able to join us to church!
Anyways., I'm starting to make this email a little long so I will end it off here. We're still working hard and having fun and I'm going to do all I can to enjoy and make the most of my final month here in Honduras!
