Drive-thru Priesthood Blessings

Hi friends!

This week was the final week of the state fair here in San Marcos and things really got going on Saturday and Sunday. That sadly meant that it was very hard to find people to talk to because they were all partying. On the bright side though, I got some souvenirs to show to my friends and family when I get home. I don't remember too much about what happened this week, but there are a few highlights that I want to mention.

I went on divisions with Elder Wright and had a fun time with him. I saw God's hand that day because we managed to catch all the right buses and have no traffic between Quimistan and San Marcos. The construction there is about 50% done and traffic has improved a lot.

We received a referral from a member that hasn't gone to church for 12 years saying that her son wants to be baptized. They both came to chuch for the first time yesterday! We're still diligently trying to help everyone come to church and receive the blessings of the gospel, and I love witnessing little miracles like this in the families of people all around the world.

Even though the state fair was at the same time as church, we had record church attendance this week! If this keeps up, then next week will be even better!

We went on a road trip with a member family to give a priesthood blessing in a far away backwater town called Santa Cruz Minas which is nearly a 5 hour walk from home. As we were heading there the car we were riding stalled and broke down and we were stuck in the middle of the mountain. We couldn't do anything or go anywhere for several hours so we just hung around waiting for help and for news about the state of the car when someone finally came to take it to a car shop. It was a fun bonding experience to have with the Relief Society President and her family and in the end the people we were going to give the priesthood blessing to drove by in their truck and stopped to let us give the blessing on the side of the road. These people who asked for the blessing aren't even members of the church, yet they gained a testimony of the power of the priesthood when a separate blessing given years before miraculously cured them. I had the blessing of giving them a new priesthood blessing, and I am so grateful for the gifts God has given me to be able to do my duty with confidence and faith. I sure hope they get better.

That last story was my most notable event of the week. It didn't work out how we planned, but in the end we accomplished our goal of blessing the lives of other people. During church a friend said that she wanted her daughter to be baptized, so we're going to work with her a bit this week. Thanks for reading this email everyone! The work keeps on going strong here and I'm enjoying the work. We're still progressing well. This week starts my final transfer here in Honduras and I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. I don't want it to end yet!
