This week we had many miracles as we worked with the members in this branch.
Hi friends!
I hope your week went well and that you enjoyed General Conference. I sure did!
This week we ministered to Yin to help him keep progressing towards baptism. But we need your prayers to help him find a job that lets him go to church on Sundays!!! He's currently in a job hunt, so your prayers for helping him with this miracle will be greatly appreciated. Anyways, we visited him with the branch president and the branch mission leader and they were both amazing lessons. I know that my new companion only has a handful of days in the mission, but he already teaches like an experienced mission. I'm so proud of him!
While we went out visiting with the branch mission leader he offerred to take us to his son and daughter-in-law's house to meet them, so we followed him to Pinalejo (a small town quite a ways away from San Marcos) only to get lost because he didn't know where they actually lived! Luckily for us, though, his daughter-in-law and her parents found us and saved us. We had a pleasant lesson with them about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We also went out visiting several times with Jandy (Handy), Norma and Kelin to visit inactive members and friends of the church. They are always so willing to help us, and they keep taking us to members we didn't know existed!
We sadly didn't go out visiting with Anthony this week, but he did open up his mission call on Tuesday!!!! He will be serving in the La Paz Bolivia mission! Way to go Anthony!
Every day we're seeing little miracles, but we're currently in the process of finding new friends to teach because the people we're teaching right now are struggling to progress. Please keep Diana, Jose, Fernando and Yin in your prayers to help them feel the Holy Ghost and keep progressing.
We watched General Conference, and I absolutely loved the lessons! We spent a lot of extra time inviting people to the conference and reminding them with text messages to watch it because it really is such a spiritual feast! Sadly, though, it appears that none of our friends watched it, even though we checked and double checked with them that they would. I feel a bit frustrated about it, but I know that I did all I could do to help them have every opportunity to watch the conference. I'm hoping that as this week goes on, we will find more miracles and blessings related to General Conference.
One fun note about General Conference. During the Saturday Evening session the BYU choir sung the songs, and I had the pleasant surprise of spotting my cousin, Matthew and his wife Madie, as well as two returned missionaries that I had met here in San Pedro Sula. Hi Elder Blauer and Elder Jarvis! I loved their rendition of the Easter song 'Were you there?'
Anyways, that was about it for me this week! I'm hoping to keep working with members because missionary work really is much more fun that way. And I'm still praying for as many miracles as possible until I finish the mission. Last month our mission broke it's all time baptism record, and now our mission goal is one baptism in every area this month, so we're searching and working diligently to accomplish that goal!
I hope you all have a great week and are doing well! Talk to you later!
