The Build Up Of Years Of Effort

Hi friends!

I hope you’re all doing well! I’m still going here in El Bosque, but WOW it’s super tiring always climbing up mountains.  Why do people decide to build houses so high up?!

Sadly, I don’t have much time to write this week because I’ve spent most of my time responding to many of the loving emails I’ve received! Thanks so much for the emails and guidance you’ve shared with me! I really appreciate it!

Of interesting events of this past week, we had a family home evening event where we had several investigators, a recent convert, and an inactive member join us! It was awesome!

The mission president passed by our house to do interviews! It was super cool, and I got to see a little bit of the behind the scenes of the life of the mission president when the mother of a missionary called in the middle of the interview with concerns about her son! The mission president seemed pretty anxious and frustrated during the whole interview (though he handled it like a champ) and I realized that for him it’s not an easy task being in charge of 172 missionaries. For all of you missionaries who read this email, send a message of support to your mission president! He needs our support as much as we need his support!  I felt energized and excited to work after being able to be with him, and I’m excited to keep seeing him and interacting with him.

I was asked to give the training for the district council.  It all worked out though.

Jessica Maradiaga was baptized and confirmed this week!!!!! She was so ready for it, it was awesome seeing the amazing experience she had coming closer to God and making covenants with Him. She came an hour late to the baptism, but we’re so glad she came and brought her children with her, and the delay allowed extra members to participate as well!  A fun thing I discovered is that she lived in Las Brisas for a while and that she is friends with a bunch of the members from over there!  She asked me to perform the ordinance, and it was an honor to help her in that step! A final thing to mention: She's been recieving the missionaries for several years now, but the patience and diligence of the past missionaries have brought this great fruit!

And…. That’s about it for things I want to mention. This week has been filled with a ton of prayers and rays of sunshine, and I’m excited for the fun new things we’ll do this next week!

Keep doing good, keep going! You are awesome! I love you guys! Thanks for your support! Missions are awesome! People keep asking me if I like Honduras, and I honestly have to say yes! I love Honduras! It’s such an interesting place, and I’ve had so many unforgettable experiences here!
