Police Purposely Pickpocket People While Preachers Prance To Protection.

Hi friends!

I don’t have time to talk this week, so I’ll just give a very very short summary of what happened this week.

We went to the house of the temple-construction-manager and ate some *very spicy* food.

- A person we just barely started teaching called the Bishop asking to be Baptized

- That same person (named Roni (Ronny) ) has also been helping to paint, has been going to Seminary, and joined us in our weekly Mission Coordination meeting. - He’s basically a full on member already.

- We spent a day wasting our time because we went looking for a shortcut to get to a member’s house and got stuck in various dead-ends.

- We helped decorate the chapel for a baby shower

- They didn’t invite us to the baby shower (the nerve!)

- We painted the mural and had a paint disaster!

- My comp gave two baptismal interviews for two people being baptized!

- I listened to a butt ton of talks about the Atonement (Highly recommend as a study topic)

I do have a story to tell (a bullet point is not sufficient for this).

If I received 1 Lempira for every time people receive a body search by the police after receiving a lesson by the missionaries I would have 2 Lempira.

It’s not a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice! And on the same day too!

So what happened is we shared a short lesson with two people sitting outside their house and gave them a pamphlet on the Gospel of Christ.  As we left the police passed by us on their motorcycles, stopped, and searched the people we just barely taught.

Later in the day we were teaching another family.  We were finishing the lesson and were about to give a Book of Mormon to a lady when the police passed by the house, stopped, and searched the children of the mother we were teaching.

I didn’t look at what the police were doing either time they searched the people, but after they left the second time I looked at the youth they patted down and noticed they were left in their underpants.

I’m now very worried that the police will do the same to me one day.  These police are very serious about their body searches.

Luckily for me, I studied the Christlike Attribute of Virtue which is basically pure/clean thoughts. Because:

Sow a thought, and you reap an act;

Sow an act, and you reap a habit;

Sow a habit, and you reap a character;

Sow a character, and you reap a destiny

Having strength of mind is a virtue, and is virtue.  I listened to an awesome talk titled Of Starfish and Destinies that I highly recommend listening to:

https://speeches.byu.edu/talks/jeffery-n-bunker/of-starfish-and-destinies/

This talk gives wonderful advice that we should always have a song in our head that is uplifting and spiritual (like a hymn) so when a bad thought (or starfish️) enters our minds we can get rid of it and keep all of ourselves clean and pure!

Anyways.  Have a great week and be happy! The atonement of Jesus Christ exists and with it’s enabling power we can be forgiven of and overcome all sins, temptations, and everything!  We can accomplish any hard thing with Christ by our side! Search for His Holy Spirit in prayer and study and pray to have virtue always!

Anyways, see you all next week!a
