A Full Week

Hi friends!

Like every week, I have little time to write, so I’ll try to keep this short and sweet for all of you!  A ton of stuff happened this week so I’ll try to make a fun bullet point list of notable events of this past week!

Not so ideal things that happened:
We went to the home of a family with relationship troubles
The husband started rattling to us about his wife
She was sitting next to him
He rambled about all the things she was doing on for an hour
We don’t know what to do and we’re too scared to go back

We received a reference of a person interested in the Book of Mormon
We called him
He told us we could visit him on the spot
We tried our best to follow his instructions to find his house
We got lost
We called a member friend to help us find him
Together, we got lost again
We asked him where he was exactly
He told us he was in another Brisas
We lost 30 minutes trying to find him (and him us)
On the bright side, the missionaries there have a new person to teach

We were calling references
My companion was opening the conversations
He asked me if I wanted to open one
I said yes
We called a person and I opened
The man hung up on me
My comp resumed opening the conversations

Dry throat strikes back
Couldn’t sleep last night b/c of it

The heat absolutely destroyed us
I drank a butt ton of water
Bathroom breaks are now an hourly event

A person died
I dunno who
Just someone did

The son-in-law of the son of a member we teach has a hitman after him
Pray that he will be safe please

There was a blackout in our pueblo
We went to the next one to teach
There was no power there either
Candlelight lesson

Ideal things that happened this week
We finished the mural!!!!
We got personal study time back!
We recorded a video on the mural
Coming Soon: Famous in church news

Ate mangos (it’s mango season!!!!)
Met a new person who sells mangos
Gave her a Book of Mormon

Guadalupe (an investigator) went to church with her husband
Ate Baleadas with Guadalupe
Drank a ton of water
Won’t die today

Set a goal to give out 2 BOM in a single day (a lot)
Surpassed that goal by giving out 6 (a TON)
Gave away on of the chapel’s BOM
Repented by replacing it the next day
One of the people we gave a BOM to told us he loved reading it!!!!

We gifted a pamphlet to someone we met on the street
She told us that by some sort of magic she was able to read the small text on it
The Holy Ghost is REAL

We found Roni again and taught him nearly every day
We had a powerful lesson with him and a member named Olvin when the football tournament was cancelled

Olvin and Karen both helped us teach
Paola and Albaluz and Ricardo helped us bring people to church

We had 9 people come to church today (9 non-members)
We wheeled two of them to church

We had super duper hot temps this week
It was cloudy for large portions of the week
We got umbrellas (courtesy of Karen) to give us shade

I memorized the hymn Hark All Ye Nations in Spanish
I memorized Alma 5:45-46 in Spanish too

We learned about tithing in church
We taught about tithing to inactive members later in the day
Maybe they’ll pay tithing again

Anyways…As you can see, a lot of stuff happened this week!  I loved it and I had a ton of fun.  I would like to shout-out my Mom who always supports me and gives me words of encouragement in our weekly video calls. I also would like to shout-out my Dad whose wisdom always help me feel confident and sure about myself and helps keep me on point. I love you guys so much.

I also shout out Jesus Christ, who on this week 1991 years ago suffered and died with the purpose of overcoming the then-insurmountable obstacles of death and sin. His success allows you to repent and be forgiven, and will give you the chance to live in heaven with God and your celestial family for time and all eternity!  If you want something to study this week, study the Atonement, and keep in your mind what you can do in your life to take advantage of that infinite blessing that God has given you.

In the name of Jesus Christ, amen!
