Maybe I Shouldn't Mention The OTHER Murder....

Hi guys!

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas, and amazing New Year and end to 2023!

This past week was a good one, though a cold hit me pretty hard during it.  I'm still feeling the final effects of the cold, so I'm not planning on writing too much today. In fact, I think I'm going to do this email in the same bullet point format as last week's.

So without further ado, let's get into it!
 - A cold hit me on Christmas Eve (sore throat)
 - The cold worsened on Christmas day (a cough)
 - The cold continued to get worse on Tuesday (extreme exhaustion)
 - And the cold got even worse on Wednesday (a very runny nose)
 - The cold finally hit it's peak on Thursday (all of the above)
 - After Friday, the symptoms have lessened and I'm now only occasionally blowing my nose
 - Still tired

Along with the cold I:
 - Proselyted every day of the week
 - Died in San Juan on Tuesday (but I was fed grapes so I was fine)
 - Died in Las Vegas on Wednesday (but both of our meetings fell through, so I had a two hour rest break)
 - Had a sudden burst of energy on Thursday that saved me

Additionally:
 - Elder Porter and Elder Franco gave me a priesthood blessing
 - Elder Porter and Elder Montoya disagreed with the Tamales (7 times for 7 tamales)
 - Nearly fell asleep in most of the lessons we had during the week (thanks Mr. Cold)
 - Celebrated the b-day of the daughter of Angel Acosta
 - Saw many firework explosions
 - Heard many firework explosions
 - Had the help of a member in contacting a person
 - Discovered one of our recent converts is also ill with a cold (I get you, buddy)
 - A cat went from my best friend to my greatest enemy when it distracted the person we were trying to teach. (Sorry, Jerry)
 - Gave a baptism photo to our most recent convert: Rotman
 - Managed to get him a diploma of his baptism (I didn't know those existed!)
 - Shared my christmas present with a bunch of people we were teaching (a booklet of family photos)
 - A bunch of them laughed at a bunch of the photos I had
 - One of them noted that one of the people in the background of a photo looked like their cousin
 - They confirmed with their family that it in fact WAS their cousin
 - What a small world it is
 - Got interviews with the mission president!
 - Got interviews with the mission president's wife!
 - Had an awesome training for weekly planning and goals
 - Put that into action the next day during our weekly planning session
 - Created goals for the whole year!
 - Learned all of the Hebrew alphabet (The Alef-bet)
 - Enjoyed an awesome p-day weekend
 - Celebrated the New Year
 - Celebrated the Old Year
 - Celebrated the year
 - Celebrated
 - Played the piano
 - Talked with the parents of Elder Porter
 - Talked with my parents
 - Talked with my grandparents
 - Talked with parents
 - Talked
 - Ate lunch with the Sorto Family
 - Ate a Chili during the lunch
 - Regretted the first bite
 - Covered the second bite with salt to help with the spice
 - Will never eat a chili again
 - Only chili sauce
 - I love chili sauce
 - Saw fireworks
 - Heard fireworks
 - Missed fireworks because of fog
 - Held a sparkler (don't tell the mission president)
 - Did laundry
 - Cleaned the house
 - Wrote emails
 - Chatted with the family
 - Showed my family to friends
 - Showed friends to my family
 - Had a spout of homesickness (first homesickness for a few months)
 - Had a spout of normal sickness
 - Had a spout of sickness
 - Sick

Alright, I think I'm repeating things too much, that means I've said all I am able to say for this week.

I hope you all have a great new year. Try your best to make goals and keep them, and rely on the Lord in all that you do! I know that you will do great things!

Keep on keeping on, and if you ever feel overwhelmed, just think about this advice that I recieved today:

"By the yard, life is hard
but...
By the inch, life's a cinch"

Just take it one day at a time, and it'll all work out.

See ya! I love ya! Goodbye!
