Beware Of Pride ... And The Scary School Buses.

Hey Friends!!! I have an hour and a half to write about a very busy week. I'll see what I can do XD.  Sadly, I don't know how to start this email or really how to even name this email. So much happened this week and none of it really stood out to me as week-defining. I do think I will start out with a warning: There may be some repitition between this email and the previous email, but I'm sure that will be fine. I also want to share a fun fact about my mission right now! Fun Fact: My companion has a list of my debts to him. Just a few hours ago it was sitting over 300 Lempira (Over $15) Monday - Aug 21st I likely already talked about much of today in my last email, but Mondays are my P-days (for this year).  From 6:30am to 6pm us missionaries have time to relax, enjoy, and prepare for the rest of the week. This means chores (lots of laundry), emails, phone calls, and other overall preperation stuff.  Today was really needed as I was feeling overwhelmed with all the new st...

I Finally Made It! (Long Email Alert!!)

Hello friends! I've got many days to recount here, so I may be spending a lot of time writing these. It's likely that the rest of my time in the CCM will be highly summarized so I can spend more time writing about Honduras. I'm sorry for the very long email. For those without time to read a lot: TL;DR. I left the CCM and my friends for Honduras. I have new friends, am suddenly stuck in a place where I can only understand every other word, got the nicest area in Honduras to serve (not boiling hot like the rest), and am already falling ill (but apparently all new missionaries spend the first three months with stomach troubles *ugh*). Friday - Aug 11th I wrote my previous email in the afternoon of this p-day so I will mostly just be recapping what happened today. Last P-day in the CCM, and last temple trip (at least until the San Pedro Sula temple opens). I got my haircut today so I'm now ready for Honduras. I wrote my previous email and called my parents and my grandparen...

¡Su Misionero Ha Llegado!

Dear family and friends of Elder Grant, We are so grateful for this opportunity to be able to be here with your beloved missionary.  We are honored to have them in our mission and are wanting to let you know they have all arrived here and are safe. We are so happy for their desire to serve the people here of Honduras and can’t wait to see how much they will change and grown for the better.   With much love, President and Sister McClellan

Hi friends! This week may be a little lacking as the days all blurred together in my journal entries and in my memory. Next email might make up for it though because I don't know when my next P-day will be. You might get an email in one week, or in two weeks (meaning extra big email *sorry*) Saturday Haircuts were had today! Not mine, mind you, but my companion's. He decided to get a missionary to cut his hair and it turned out pretty well. I'm going to use the CCM sponsored haircut service though. I decided to study the Christlike attribute of Patience. Guess what Christlike attribute I struggled with most today: Patience. It is painfully clear that I am far from perfect, but I will try my best to improve over time. It will only take Diligence and Patience. Sunday Fast Sunday! This was the perfect day to wear my family heirloom tie: The Rooster Tie. My dad bought The Rooster Tie when he served his mission and he passed it on to his brothers, and now me. I'm very proud ...

Hi friends! The trend of the events of Tuesday naming the emails is officially broken. This time I named my email off of the events of Wednesday. Sorry Tuesday,  talking with the MTC President is not enough to get onto the subject line. Fun fact, I'm writing the email on the way home from the temple today, meaning I have two temple trips to share with you! Friday Temple trip! We did Endowments today in the temple. We were worried that the endowment would be in Spanish…and we were correct. Luckily for us though, they had English subtitles for us to follow with, so we weren’t too lost. The speaking parts were a little worrisome as well but we were given a piece of paper with the transcript so we could read our parts. That was a great thing because many of the people had a heavy accent that is hard to understand. I’m starting to get more excited to meet the people in Honduras every day, especially when I think about all the cool people I will be able to meet. Saturday THE BIGGEST RAIN...
